It’s a roadmap to a better future
Knowledge left by the voices of the past
A gift to ease the suffering
A way to jump ahead
In my youth I squandered this gift
At old age I realized the value, too late
I added my own advice to those letters
With the hope that others will listen
That they will not be as ungrateful, as I was
Electing the selfish choice of comfort
Over long term happiness
The choice I made
Hoping it doesn’t take a lifetime to learn
Or even a lifetime to correct
That they are smarter, than I was
That what I learned might carry value
To those who are ready to listen
May you learn what I didn’t
