All loves forgotten
Buried in the mind as hazy memories
Rarely mentioned or conjured
A whisper and it’s lost again
Sent fleeing by the wind
A familiar name causing a spark
But the fire never catches
Once easily remembered, now in a moment nearly forgotten
Whatever was left time has taken
Never knowing which direction they went
Trying to remember a small feature of theirs
A grin or smile, maybe their eyes
Time has taken that too
Their face now a fading picture
Wishing for a glimpse of the good times
Only to come up blank
Not the slightest idea of why it ended
Far worse, don’t recall how it started
As the breeze passes
It takes the dimming memory
And like that
Back to the present
To our current lives
