I was standing outside the restaurant
As you talked to your friend
It was raining and I was drenched
You looked over
You saw me
Stared at me for a couple of seconds
Your face said it all
Then you looked away
Back to your dinner and friend
Like that I was out of your life
Why didn’t you acknowledge me
As I stood in the rain
You looked at me as if I were a ghost
A thing of the past
Not meant to be part of your present
And definitely not your future
That’s the moment I realized you moved on
I was merely a sad person standing in the rain
Drenched and forgotten
