The raindrop hangs at the edge of the tin roof
Struggling to hang on
The wind trying to knock it off
The drops around it are flying off, some even jumping off
Still it hangs on
The world around it falling to the ground
Still it hangs on
High above more drops fall some missing the roof
Falling straight to the ground
Still it hangs on
I watch in awe of it’s determination to hang on
It beginnings to stretch and grown
And just like that
It lets go and falls into a pool of water beneath it
Sometimes we hang on for the wrong reason
And we let go to become part of something greater
