Staring at the empty glass
My thirsty still not quenched
Ask for another drink from the bartender
Trying the pace my next drink
I’m lost in my own thoughts
Self-pity and depression my friends for the night
I play with the glass in my hand that is all ice
Another drink, I signal the bartender
Five drinks in and nothing, not even a buzz
My body is immune to the whiskey
Getting drunk is a costly endeavor
The night proceeds and the alcohol flows
Only mission to get drunk and pass out
Hopefully, I can walk home before I pass out
The night will tell
Another drink, I signal the bartender
Day #137 SJD
