I walk you back and forth

I keep walking you in hopes you will give in

Not letting the sleep take you

That you won’t fall asleep

Are you afraid we won’t be here when you wake

That will never happen, as long as I have a breath

No matter what I say, you still fight it

It’s only sleep

I can only imagine how you will fight the world

When it tries to wrong you

I know you won’t give in

I’m proud to know you are a fighter

But for now my dear please fall asleep

As I rock you back and forth, you finally start to drift away
